Mission, Vision, and Scientific Commitment
The foundational principles, long-term strategic charter, and open-access commitments governing Annals of Curiosity and AOC Press.
The Institutional Mission
The mission of Annals of Curiosity is to democratize scientific discovery by establishing open, mentor-guided, and methodologically rigorous publishing pathways. We believe that curiosity is the true driver of scientific progress, and that no valid research inquiry should be abandoned due to financial barriers, opaque editorial rejections, or a lack of institutional sponsorship.
Through AOC Press periodicals and collaborative research working groups, we provide early-career investigators, medical students, and independent scholars with the guidance, peer evaluation, and archival dissemination necessary to transform ideas into peer-reviewed contributions.
Strategic Vision 2030
Our vision is to develop Annals of Curiosity into a globally recognized open-access academic publishing house and research incubator. By 2030, our institutional roadmap commits to:
- Expanding Indexed Periodicals: Establishing specialized, peer-reviewed journals across clinical disciplines, epidemiological subspecialties, and open-science scientometrics.
- Fostering South-South & Global Research Networks: Providing collaborative infrastructure for multicenter studies across developing and developed academic centers.
- Open Scientific Data Archives: Integrating open data repositories compliant with FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) principles across all published works.
- Methodological Literacy: Delivering continuous biostatistics workshops, manuscript writing clinics, and peer-reviewer training curricula.
Open Access Declaration
Annals of Curiosity is fully committed to the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI). All published articles are made freely and permanently accessible online immediately upon publication. Readers are granted free, irrevocable, worldwide, perpetual right of access, and a license to copy, use, distribute, transmit, and display the work publicly under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC-BY 4.0).
